Marie's Postcard Collection. In the same park as the Umbrella Rock is this as the entrance. I think it was a Yankee view point out post in the Civil War. It overlooks the Tennessee River and the City of Chattanooga. Give a soldier a telescope or binoculars and he could see details miles away. Ladies, close your curtains!
Also, I don't think the castle style grand entrance was there during the Civil War battles there. After all, it was suppose to be a "secret" lookout post.
