Marietta Postcard

Marie's Postcards. This is downtown Marietta, the Square. The photograph was taken at such an angle you cannot tell it is a square. Glover park looks like only a clump of trees. Pick out any building that in the downtown area you are familiar with and you can begin to recognize other buildings. The first thing I picked out was the County building on 100 Cherokee Street which used to be First National and Barnett Bank. But, hark! The parking deck next to it, has yet to be built. See the lone bright multi-storied building near the top left of the picture with green trees all around it? That is the YWCA at 55 Henderson street. Another thing: Have you ever been to Marietta in the daylight and not see herds of people at every corner waiting to cross? In this there are no people. We are too tiny in the grand scheme of things to even be noticed if you are just a little high above the town. We might be more insignificant on this earth than we like to believe. However, on the other hand, we humans built the buildings you can see from high up.
