True
Story: The other day we were talking to
a Help Technician. The person was very
patient although she misunderstood what we wanted a couple of times. She put us on hold several times and seemed
to be gone a long time. I think she was
seeking advice or looking things up. In
other words, I don't think she knew what she was doing. It was probably her first day. She had an accent.
We were very
patient also.
In the background
we heard several one-sided conversations going on. I think they were other help technicians
manning phones.
I wondered
if they were in another country.
Then
apparently a male technician lost his temper with a client and exploded with a
bunch of rattling foreign words, loudly.
Then all was
quiet. Evidently all the technicians
busy helping clients on the telephone lost interest in helping someone who
needed their expertise.
After a
minute of silence, other than the distant sound of chairs or shoes shuffling, I asked, "Are you still there?"
She reluctantly
said, "Yes."
