Cousins, Uncles, & WWII

Without a word, you know WWII is in the air.

The people in the photos are my uncles and cousins. One, you can figure out which, just returned from Navy bootcamp and brought his nephews Navy uniforms. He would later become mayor of Marietta.

His brother had not yet enlisted but would become a sergeant in the Army and participated in D-Day, invading the beaches of Normandy.

The two nephews, Bobby and Jimmy just several years later went fishing one day and on their walk to the pond went by a wholesale grocery truck parked on the side of the road. Hours later, on the way back home the truck was still there. This time they looked in and saw the body of a man who shot himself, shortly after he returned from the War.

The dead man, was my wife Anna's (not yet born) uncle. Again, it is a small world.

Judy,
Yep, it is not a nice coincidence, but never-the-less, a coincidence.
