Marie's Postcard Collection: This is Lovers' Leap at Rock City, on Lookout Mountain. They say you can see Seven States from that point. That is on a clear day of course and I'm sure it is depending on what vision you have. If you have 20 x 15,788,456 you should be able to see 7 states just fine and maybe Cuba.
Back to the folklore of it is a Lover's Leap: It is a story as old as the hills. There are loves' leaps all over the place. Two Indians from different tribes fall in love and their love is a condemned love - not socially accepted by either tribe so if they can't have each other, we'll show them! And leaped to their deaths. I wonder what their last words were: "You first"?; "The last one to the bottom is a rotten egg"?
