Larry and Linda

I have known Larry and Linda Bates Southern most of my life, at least since the 3rd grade.  They have not changed a bit, although I don't remember Larry having a mustache in the 3rd grade.

Here they are in Cave Springs, Georgia, at Janna West's wedding.

I saw Linda and her son Larry, Jr. at Costco not long ago.  She told me she just talked to Larry, Sr.  He was up on their roof looking around.  I was surprised.  Not that he would be up on a roof at 76 years old when left home alone, but surprised to have a cell phone with him.  He is not a cell-phone type of guy.
