This door is a side door to the Strand Theater. Back in the 40s, 50s, and part of the 60s in was the "Colored Entrance". Thw white folks got the grand entrance with a bright marquee and a plush lobby with a grand staircase. The Afro-Americans had to come in the side door and walk up to back of the balcony. The Strand was the only walk-in theater that allowed blacks. What is "Separate but Equal Treatment" about that?
