One of the
workers* of the Panama Canal Zone was my father's uncle Oscar Ray Hunter*
(1884-1963), son of William A. Hunter/Trammell. Oscar married a Panama
Canal project nurse Charlotte Georgia McCabe (1881-1958). They had one son William Ray Hunter, who was an engineer for
NASA.. He and his wife Dorothy Grace
Edmonson used to come to Hunter Reunions in Marietta and Blairsville.
*Oscar was a
bookkeeper for the Panama Canal project.
