Red Flags

Yesterday on a local TV news they had a story about red flags at a certain crosswalk in Athens, Georgia.  A number of pedestrians have been hit by by cars there.  For whatever reason drivers do not see the people walking there.

An official came up with an idea of red flags.  In the report there was a bucket holding red flags on light weight staffs.  I think the plan is for the pedestrian pick up a red flag and walk across the street and hopefully be well visualized.  Then, on the other side, deposit the red flag into a bucket with other red flags, and the flags can be reused back and forth.

If it works, I might get me a red flag and carry it around with me constantly.  Maybe getting overlooked, ignored,  or being invisible will be a thing of the past.
