Today, June 27th, is the official date of the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain in 1864. Although I think blood was spilled days before and after that date on and near the mountain.
The Battle of Kennesaw Mountain changed or effected many lives and are still effecting lives. All my Hunter cousins that were born in the area - it effected them. Their progenitor, William A. Trammell/Hunter fought there, wounded, recuperated locally, and liked the people so much he returned with his family about 14 years later. And the rest is history until present day. We were born here because of a change of events that happened on Kennesaw Mountain.
