This is
Anna's maternal grandmother, Myrtle Irene Jones Foster (1895-1991). She was born in the Alpharetta, Georgia, area
and died in Marietta, Georgia, at age
95. Irene's parents are Walter Vernon
Jones and Mintoria Mathis Jones.
Her
husband Paul Everett Foster (1895-1936)
died when Irene was 41 years old with four children to raise. She fed her children by continuing her late
husband's profession of repairing Singer Sewing Machines; taking care of children; being a practical
nurse; and having a garden.
The kids,
two sons and two daughters grew up to be fine adults.
