Forty-six years ago,
this date, Anna and I were married at
Noonday Baptist Church. It was the best
thing I ever did up to that point. From
then on the best thing I ever did was listen to her suggestions.
Some newlyweds go to Niagara Falls for their honey
moon. However, we are more moderate in our travels, so we went to Anna Ruby
Falls. The falls are in Unicoi State
Park, just a couple of miles outside of Helen.
We spent a week in a cabin there, only venturing out a few times to
visit Helen, Georgia.
In 1967 Helen was not a misplaced Alpine Village
nestled in the Blue Ridge
Mountains. It was just a little small town near the beginning of the Chattahoochee River, enjoyably secluded and not many people.
I love Anna more and more each day.
