You remember THE SPIRIT don't you? If not from the funnies themselves in the 1940s, then maybe in SUNDAY FUNNIES here from time to time. About ten years ago all THE SPIRIT stories were recycled and got popular again. And here I am trying to get on the bandwagon.
The creator of THE SPIRIT, Will Eisner, when he was in the Army in WWII because of his artistic abililty illustrated Army how-to manuals. Recently, maybe in the past week or two I noticed you can buy an electronic book for about $10 which is one of the Army manual's he illustrated. Whatever it is about, I'm sure the information is outdated now, but the thirst for his art did not die with him.
