The lady who was injured in Macy's 1997 Thanksgiving Parade by some out of control floats - remember that incident? Her Manhattan apartment was the one that the airplane crashed into this week.
I heard that on the news. The thing about the Macy's parade incident, though, was that the woman had repeatedly been told by a cop not to stand where she was standing. She refused to move because she had a good view, and then the lamppost fell on her. I'm not saying she deserved it, but it really pisses me off that she subsequently sued the City and then us taxpayers gave her loads of money. She should have paid me since it was her damn fault for standing there. Harumph. The plane thing is maybe karma over the lawsuit? (That is a terrible tthing to say, but so be it.)

I didn't know she sued the city. Karma might have played a roll.
