Vanity or Just Well Pickled?

The black & white picture is my grandmother Minnie Tyson Hunter and my grandfather Frank Paris Hunter, taken about 1946.

The color picture is Donna, a girl in my high school class, taken Sept 30, 2006.

I find it amazing that in the two pictures Minnie is only two years or less older than Donna.

Nutrition, exercise, easier lives can also lead to looking more youthful today. Right?

Right, that and a tanning bed, hair-dye, face lift perm, and tight-ass designer denim.

Tight ass designer denim only looks good if it has something good wearing it. So if that's her unsurgically altered bod, I'd say she's looking damn fine.

TOn the other hand, the tan is actually scary.

I bet her grandchildren won't remember her for the special way she cooked chicken and biscuits or something of that sort like I remember my grandmother.
I shouldn't be so hard on her - she was one of the ones that told me word for word what I put in her yearbook.
I guess her look to me just looks terribly artificial. I think a man or woman who gracefully matures is just more natural and less pretentious. But, that is old fashion me.
