God is a Republican

There is no doubt about it, Republicans are ordained by a special mandate from Heaven to do God’s work. If they say something it is like God Himself said it.

For instance the new TV commercial of Republican Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue and his wife are talking about sweet family stuff us that us barbaric Democrats and Independents just would not understand, a higher plain than we can possibly grasp.

Mrs. Perdue to Sonny says something like, “I sure hope those Democrats don’t start throwing mud at us. You know how Mark Taylor did with Cathy Cox in the last campaign.”

Of course it is OK to talk about your opponent if you are a Republican because God looks favorably on Republicans.

In the same commercial Sonny says if you want to know the real truth, check out their website.

Of course, you know the website will be true and impartial and no dirt being slung. They are just doing God’s work.

Eddie, I so agree! I hate how they put those digs in their commercials, like their little remarks aren't equal to mud slinging. We have them here too and I'm so sick of it.

I saw that commercial while watching the Tech football game yesterday afternoon with some friends. The moment Mary said "Cathy Cox" all 6 of us looked at each other with our eyes wide open and mouths dropped. That's the first time I've ever seen a campaign commercial where the name of a defeated candidate from an opposing party's primary has been mentioned.

As my friend Doug said, it's an obvious response to those who have sought to perpetuate the belief that there is a rift amongst Democrats. Which is really stupid considering that people who identify themselves as Democrats aren't likely to vote for Sonny under any circumstances. Instead of letting sleeping dogs lay between Taylor and Cox, they're only encouraging the opponent and hurting Taylor.

But I also think this is a pre-emptive strike vs. Taylor and his campaign style meant to sway people who are sick of negative ads. It's rumored that Taylor's going to turn the Georgia airwaves blood red at some point this fall.

Carolyn,
It really erks me to think these so-called self-claimants of Family Value speak like only they have can decide the good and evils... and define what is and what an't.

Button,
I hope it doesn't backfire. Nobody likes to see mud slinging.

Oh boy. Republicans must be the part of God since they have absolutely no scandals of any sort. Nope, no sweet deals with scary Jewish lobbyists, no sexual harrassment of Congressional pages, nada. And forget lying to the public about Iraq.

Nothing to see here folks. Move along.

Ha! I detect a hint of cynicism here, Eddie.

Thanks for the visit - that was a great answer about the picture.

Suzanne,
You are right. I am trying to figure out if it is God calling the Shots and the Republicans do as He says or does the Repubs call the shots and God does as they say?

Judy,
What, me cynical?
I always enjoy visiting your site. Not only is it a pleasant place to visit, it is also a great place to steal ideas.
