Jane Murray (1870- ? )

Jane lived. That is about all I know about her. She was officially the daughter of Winfield Scott Murray and Nancy C. Petty. She was born in Fannin County, Ga., which is in the Blue Ridge, Ga., area.
I would think she probably moved with her mother to Fletcher, Comanche County, Okahoma. She was the youngest of six children.

An interesting chapter of her life may have been 9 months before she was born. Based on what I have Jane was born about 6 years after her father died.

Hmmm, no wise men appearing at the door bearing expensive gifts? I bet that took some explaining.

Gerbil,
As far as I can tell her husband was killed in the Civil War, or was missing in action. He would have been in the War between the years 1861-65.
Yet, she was born in 1870.
I bet a lot of women claimed the second coming.

Was Winfield Scott named after the general???

Steve,
It wouold seem likely he was named after the general who was the strong arm of "The Trail of Tears"
He was born about 1840 - about the time General Scott was marching the Indians to Oklahoma.
Ironically, that is where his window moved - to Oklahoma.
