Confiscated

My daddy is the cop in the background on the left. The picture was taken in the early 50s. When we go to the local O'Charley's Restaurant we see this picture framed in the lobby with other oldie local pictures.

It looks like Daddy and his two fellow officers Jesse and Earnest caught someone trying to smuggle cases and cases of blackberry jam into the city.

Well, thank God they caught him! No self-respecting city ought to have jam!

That's so cool! Was he with City of Marietta police?

I am going to add you to the Georgia Bloggers list over at My Mind Is On Georgia. Why don't you think about submitting something to the next carnival?

That's a fantastic photograph. It actually looks like something from a movie

Judy,
They should have known to use fruit spread!
EH Teacher,
My father was first a patrolman with the Marietta Police, then chief of the same, then he went on to Chief of the Cobb County Police.
Thanks for visiting, I have visited your two great sites. Thanks for asking.

Blackberry jam? Yeah, that's it, blackberry jam. Hey, some folks' families made good money bootlegging! Unfortunately for me, it wasn't my branch though. My great Uncle Reuben dilvered more spirits than any snake handling preacher or any Catholic exorcist.

I'm sometimes glad that my family wasn't "rich" though. Uncle Reuben used his money to get any woman he wanted. And my Aunt Annie acted like it wasn't happening. Til one day in the 50's when she drove up to Columbus, GA and hit her husband's mistress in the head with a coke bottle.

Redneck rich is wonderful, ain't it?!
