Who Do I Think I Am? Wow! Part 55
James Marion Petty (1833-1905). What I have:
James lived all of his life in Pettytown, Tx., except for a brief stay in Coleman Co., Tx. He served in The Confederacy in the Civil War and contracted tuberculosis which eventually resulted in his death. His three brothers John, Samuel, and Joseph served in the 26th Brigade, Texas State Troops and it is assumed that he did also with the other Bastrop Volunteers. The Petty family came to Texas by 1848. The Fowlers and the Pettys were acquainted in Arkansas before coming to Tx.
