Progress... bull!
When we first got married we moved to Smyrna, Georgia, where we spent the next seven years.
These pictures are of the property across the street. We were told the property was owned by the Barnes family of Mableton, which was be ex-Governor Roy Barnes family.
The property had rolling hills, cattle, and a single old unpainted dwelling. In the dwelling a black family lived. They were always working the property. I heard the elder Barnes had in his will that the family could live there until the last of the present family died.
I think the family member died. I rode by there a few months ago and saw rolling hills of townhouses and no little unpainted shack.
Sad.
