ASA ELISHA3 RIDLEY (WILLIAM2, WILLIAM1) was born 18 Jul 1809 in , , Ky6, and died 15 Mar 1882 in Stevenson, Jackson, Al. He married ELIZABETH ANN DAME 08 Sep 1839 in Jasper, Marion Co, Tn, daughter of JOHN DAME and ELIZABETH OYLER. She was born 25 Mar 1812 in Jasper, Marion Co, Tn, and died 07 May 1903 in Stevenson, Jackson Co, Al.

Notes for ASA ELISHA RIDLEY:
Elisha came south in the early 1830s with his two brothers Ales Price and Charles Martin Ridley. He settled in Jackson County, Ala., and his brothers settled in Franklin, Heard County, Ga,
Elisha enlisted in the Florida-Indian War March 12 1838 at Fort Payne, Ala. He was a private in Captain Gautts Company under Captain Harry Rogers. He was mustered out Jul 22 1838 and received a land warrant of forty acres for his service.
"He was blued eyed, fair skin and dark hair and about six feet height. At the time of marriage he resided near Jasper, Tennessee for seven years, then we moved to near Bridgeport, Alabama, where we have resided up to his death" - Elizabeth Dame Ridley on her affidavit for widow's pension.
The Ridley land is located across the Tennessee River, across from Widow's Creek T.V.A Steam Plant, on top of Sand Mountain.
