ETHJR,
KNOW THAT BUILDING WELL. MY DAD USED TO DROP BUBBA AND I OFF FOR SUNDAY SCHOOL WHEN WE WERE ABOUT 11-12. WE WOULD SKIP AND GO HANG OUT IN THE POST OFFICE, UNTIL HE CAME IN ONE DAY AND THE JIG WAS UP.
HI G AND PAM, AND KENJU.

Paul,
I know it well too. When they built it in about 1945 I was just learning the habits of wandering. We lived two blocks away in the Clay Homes. After the workers went home in the evening my sister, and a bunch of us locals played there.
Then later it became Office Sales & Service and presently, I think it is Gov Roy Barnes' and his crew's law offices.

Morning to you all ...
Wasn't that a huge post office for back then?

I thought it was a school until I read the comments.

Judy,
You are right!
It was a school. A Sunday school.

THE POST OFFICE WAS ACROSS THE STREET ON ATLANTA STREET. IT WAS APRETTY GOOD SIZED BUILDING THEN.SPEAKING OF ROY, HE USED TO PLAY POKER WITH US AT BUDDY'S IN THE EARLY 70'S. NOT A VERY GOOD POKER PLAYER, BUT TURNED OUT TO BE A PRETTY FAIR, COUNTRY LAWYER.HE WILL PROBABLY BE OUR NEXT DEMOCRATIC CZAR,UH, GOVERNOR. UNLESS THE TEACHERS AND THE FLAGOIDS RAISE THEIR HEADS.
