In Jimmy's senior years at Marietta High he and his brother lived with their grandfather on East Dixie Avenue. I knew the old man as Mr. Smith.
Before the Smith brothers lived with Mr. Smith he ran a pool room in the basement of the auditorem at Larry Bell Park. Sometimes I would go in and sat with him and listen to him talk. He knew my father and my father's brothers. Mr. Smith was an old man then, so I suppose he was an adult when my Daddy and his brohers were teenagers. He had some funny and wild stories about the Hunters boys. I wished I had remembered them.
Not that the above has anything to do with his grandson, Mr. MHS. Jimmy was OK too.
