In the very back is our teacher. Her first name was Jesse and I don’t remember her last name at the time. She was single. A young man would come visit and stand outside the classroom and woo her. His name was Herbert McCollum. In a short time she became Mrs. Herbert McCollum. Herbert McCollum became commissioner and was more or less the main force behind Cobb County becoming modern to keep up with the times. He also was responsible for doing away with the old Courthouse. Boo!
