Marble Quarry Postcard
The card says: MARBLE QUARRY located at Tate, Georgia. The first use of the quarries was in 1884. They are now operated by the Georgia Marble Company.
I remember going with my family up to Tate and around looking at the marble quarries. I remember climbing down one level at a time. Then, gasp, climbing back up, one level at a time, which about wore me out. That is another thing I know not to do again.

I saw the billboard in Jasper for the annual Marble Festival coming up, with tours of the quarry, and remembered this picture of yours that I had saved. We live near Jasper and have never taken the tour, maybe this year? I imagine it won't be as exciting as yours, though!
