He married (2) IMA CAPITOLA WITCHER 15 May 1937, daughter of GAY WITCHER and LELA BUCHANNAN. She was born 15 Feb 1917 in , Heard, Ga, and died 27 Sep 1991 in , Heard, Ga.
Notes for RUFUS ELISHA RIDLEY:
Rufus worked as a clerk in Lipford's Grocery Store. They moved to the Bell Place in 1946 and had electricity and on 400 acres of wooded hilly land. On Sundays they would take long walks over the land. The rent was $100 a year. Also on Sundays they would go on long drives and have a picnic lunch at places like near the Little White House at Warm Springs, Georgia. On Saturday night they would listen to "THE GRAND OLE OPRY" on the radio.

Notes for IMA CAPITOLA WITCHER:
Ima worked at Calloway Mills in nearby LaGrange, Georgia, ten hours a day six days a week and preferred to spend her off time with her family instead of church socials, which some church members resented.
