LEWIS DAVIS6 RIDLEY, SR. was born 28 Apr 1905 in Franklin, Heard, Ga, and died 09 Aug 1969 in Atlanta, Fulton, Ga. He married VIVIAN ARDELE BAKER 31 Dec 1935, daughter of JOHN BAKER and WANDA DOROUGH. She was born 25 Feb 1921.

Heard County History 1990 - "In 1923 Lewis's family moved from Heard County to Fulton County, Georgia and Lewis started to Tech High School. It was here that he started to play Trombone in the school band, thus starting his musical career. The Lewis Ridley Orchestra became well known and much sought after in the Big Band era of the 1930's and 1940's. Throughout his later life, Lewis played drums with the Yaarab Temple Shrine Band in Atlanta. In 1935, Lewis met the talented vocalist and keyboard player, Vivian Baker, hired to sing and play accordian and piano with his band. On Dec 31 1938 Lewis and Vivian were married and settled into a house on Morgan Street, near Georgia Baptist Hospital in Atlanta. From 1943 until the end of the war in 1945, Lewis worked with Bell Aircraft, Marietta, Georgia, in drafting and plan layout. This was the team that built the great B-29 Bombers that delivered the final blows to end World War II. Later, Lewis put himself through Woodrow Wilson School of Law, passed the Georgia Bar Examination and became a practicing Attorney in the field of Real Estate and Property Law".
