Today in History, the Boston Tea Party*



On this date, December 16th, in 1773, Boston had a little Tea Party. Dressed as Indians, Bostonians dumped tea into the Boston harbor. They did it because they had to pay tax on the tea. It was the whole idea of paying taxes without representation is what got the whole party going.

That was some tea party! I wonder what today’s self-proclaimed Tea Party Members identify the with the original?
