The French Quarters, New Orleans postcard
The red brick building on the right looks very much like the place we stayed on our last trip to New Orleans with the boys.
The place we stayed was supposed to be the building Anne Rice had in mind when she wrote INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE.
It was kind of neat with a court yard with a big fountain. Our room was a two roomer with a balcony overlooking the street below. What we saw from that balcony deserves its own posting.
But, even though this building looks like the same building we stayed in I don’t think it is. The place we stayed there across the street on the left was a grammar school with a fence around it.
It could have fooled me.
And then again the redbrick building on the card looks like one on Bourbon Street that Pete Fountain played his clarinet cleverly called The Pete Fountain Club.
