JOHN'S book THE WORLD'S GONE CRAZY I read:
In November
2009 tourists at Kelly Tarlton's Underwater World in Auckland, New Zealand,
said that one of aquarium's sharks had just bitten another one in the belly and
baby sharks were swimming out of the gash.
The staff
jumped to investigate, they didn't even know she was pregnant. According to the staff he attacking shark had
apparently had bitten the pregnant shark to help her have her babies. A shark cesarean?
There is no
record of shark cesarean before.
Mother and
babies did fine.
It opens up
the possibilities that
!. Sharks are smarter than we thought.
2. They can possibly communicate medically with one
another.
3. When duty
calls they can do what is needed.
4. They just
might have a humane* streak towards their fellow sharks.
