SUNDAY FUNNIES!! HUMBUG # 9, 2 short ones

HUMBUG was a small satire magazine that was so cheaply made you might think "homemade" when you flipped through an issue.   It was on a tight budget. It looked much like England's PUNCH magazine.  It was published 11 issues in the latter part of the 1950s.  The make-believe ad above is by the late Will Elder.  Will Elder was one of MAD's original 4 artists and also the primary artist for PLAYBOY's Annie Fanny.  The bottom is by making fun of an ad that used to be in the back of magazines back then.  It is by Al Jaffee.  Al did a strip of newspapers called TALL TALES and still contributes to MAD.
