Choose Sides - that was about the just of it, 150 years ago, if you lived in or near a border state. If you live someplace like Georgia or New York you didn't have a choice of what side to choose. However, I recently read of a small town in upstate New York that the people decided to succeed with the south and actually something like a dozen men jointed the CSA. And I read of some men in Macon County, North Carolina, and Union County, Georgia, joined the Union forces.

This comicbook story from the pages of EC's FRONTLINE COMBAT published in 1952, written by editor Harvey Kurtzman and illustrated by Wallace Wood.
