1775: 9 old women burnt as witches for causing bad harvests, Kalisk, Poland
Since those primative times people finally realized that witches cannot control the natural elements to cause bad crops. That was truly the dark ages! It was reallly Democrats! Everybody knows that Democrats are responsible for everything that goes wrong, including floods and earth quakes.
