Remember the movie CANE MUTINY? Actually there were two, one in early Naval times around the birth of the our nation and the other one was in modern times. But the story-line was the same, the Captain go nuts and the higher people and command had to remove him from the driver's seat, so to speak.
The latest mutiny movie was fairly recent when I was in the Navy in the early 1960s. If we thought an officer was nuts we would imitate him clicking two steel balls together in his fist, just like Bogart did in the 2nd Mutiny.
