History Lessons


On this date, April the 16th, 1971, Republican New York Governor and presidential candidate in 1944 and 1948 died.

Above is Democrat President Harry Truman, who did win the 1948 election showing and flaunting the Chicago Tribune's erroneously headline; they jumped the gun.

Give them Hell Harry!
That event had two lessons:

Newspapers don't print your headlines until they actually happen.

and

The poll at the election booth is the only poll that count.
