When Arnold Schwarzenegger was governor of California he traveled in style, a chauffeured limousine. That might be impressive if the state wasn't in the red at the time.
When Jerry Brown relieved Arnold he did his own driving in a sedan which probably did not make that much money difference but probably was an inspiration or symbolic to be more frugal with the people's money. I think the state, financially, is doing much better now.
Now more recently, Trump's hand picked men have been been caught with unnecessary luxuries such as Tom Price's private chartered flights and Ben Carson was asked by a committee to justify a $31,000 dining set for his office. He cancelled the order.
And now Trump wants a big military parade, "Like France did" he said, which will be very costly they say.
