HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO! Which is celebrated more in U.S.'s Mexican Restaurants than it is across Mexico. It is not their Independence Day. It is a battle in 1862 in Central Mexico Puebla. Their Independence Day is September 16th, the day they won their Independence from Spain (from Uncle John's page a day Calendar Almanac). But it sounds like a good enough reason to Mexican today to me! I might even dance around the hat!
