We had lunch at an eatery today that specializes in
breakfast and lunch. It was about noon. Besides us there was only one other customer,
and he was waiting on a to-go order.
I think there were only 3 employees there: one on the
counter taking orders, and one cooking, and one cleaning up. All three were in different parts of the
building and all were carrying on a normal conversation. They had to talk loud or bellow their words
to be heard by the other two.
You can’t help eavesdropping, whether you want to or not.
