Deer Me!

Here is an interesting fact:  at the Kennesaw Memorial Cemetery is next door to the Kennesaw National Battlefield Park which is  populated with a lot of deer.  At funerals during a graveside service you can see deer gathering at the edge of the woods of the park looking  on.  Are they showing respect?  They sure are!  Respecting all those flowers around the grave.  When the humans leave the deer move in for a buffet.   

Good for them, the flowers are put to good use.

Yesterday we carried Marie to the funeral of Dot Croy, her very good friend and confident. 

After the funeral we took her to Johnboys, her favorite restaurant.  Before she had  even tasted her soup she started shivering like she was freezing.  I gave her my coffee to warm her up.  She could not drink it her hands were trembling so bad.  Something was wrong.

We carried her to the ER.

The medical staff said she would die soon.  Thanks to facebook her grandchildren were alerted.  When she died she surrounded by family.  

She died at 11:09.  The nurse said she stopped breathing then.

However the doctor could not get to her examine her vitals until after midnight, so her death is officially noted as dying the next day.

She lived 94 years.

Varner Video 2014

What if you gave a party and nobody came?   Or, what if you gave a party and because of bad weather  it was moved up one week and everybody came on the cancelled date? 

Even though it is pouring down rain and is forecasted to all day, I will not be surprised but will be amused if a few people show up today at noon for the Varner Reunion.  They would have overlooked the date change announcement.  Well, they can have their own mini-Varner Reunion today.

For those who will get irritated not knowing the party had been cancelled:, instead of getting irritated, sit down and watch the below video of last year's Varner  Reunion, so this week won't be a total lost.
