U.S. Flags, Remembering U.S. Flags, and Kennesaw Mountain





Over the weekend at the base of Kennesaw Mountain, the green grass part was covered with standing near 3000 U.S. Flags gently flapping in the winds.  The flags are symbols of the lives of Americans who were killed on the terrorist strike of 9-11.

The flags tradition at Kennesaw Mountain on the anniversary of that dreadful day was started by the Marietta Kiwanis Club and I think they do it about every other year.  Volunteers walk to the mountain holding the flags.


This year it was a weekend happening.   We went to see the flags Monday,  a day late and a dollar short.  But they were just as heart-felt.
