Over the
weekend at the base of Kennesaw Mountain, the green grass part was covered with
standing near 3000 U.S. Flags gently flapping in the winds. The flags are symbols of the lives of
Americans who were killed on the terrorist strike of 9-11.
The flags
tradition at Kennesaw Mountain on the anniversary of that dreadful day was
started by the Marietta Kiwanis Club and I think they do it about every other
year. Volunteers walk to the mountain
holding the flags.
This year it
was a weekend happening. We went to see
the flags Monday, a day late and a
dollar short. But they were just as
heart-felt.
