As many of
the readers of Chicken-fat.com know, there have been for the past 25 or so
years an annual Larry Bell Park Reunion.
For the past 6 years there has been an annual Varner Reunion. Varners was a drive-in restaurant that
teenagers hung out at. Those teenagers
now are older than middle age.... but when they all meet, they are teenagers
again.
Larry Bell
Park and the Varners both were places to be seen at. It was a feather in your hat to be there; it
didn't hurt climbing the peer social ladder.
So, what am
I driving at?
I noticed
lately a lot of OMs on Facebook have mentioned the Asian restaurant House of Lu
on Cherokee Street. Apparently, it is
the new status symbol to have been there.
Now, are
they to have annual reunions also? I
think they are talking about the House of Lu behind the Strand Theater
behind on Cherokee Street. Do you get social recognition if you dine at
the House of Lu on Powder Springs Road?
