Gladys and her family lived in Texas, but in the later years of her youth, they lived in Pine Bluff, Aransas. Glayds attended the University of Arkansas. That is where she met her future husband Richard Bobcock Willis.
While Ricard (Sr.) was in the Army during World War I, Gladys and her mother, Maggie, lived in Texarkana. In Later years, she lived in Corpus Christi, Texas, near many relatives from her father's side of the family.
David and Nancy Willis lived with Gladys for one year in the early fifties, in Riviera Beach, Texas (near the King Ranch), while their mother, Winifred, was establishing herself in Texas after moving there from New Jersey. Gladys also actually lived with the Willis family in Corpus Christi for several years, lending help to Winifred in raising David and Nancy.
David and Nancy called Gladys "Mammaw". Mammaw was a warm and strong person, who used good judgement and total loyal and supporting of David's and Nancy's decisions - whether about job or marriage.
Gladys' first cousin, Opal Warren Yarborough said, "Gladys was my idol as I was growing up. I visited her and aunt Maggie almost every summer until I finished high school and she visited us fairly often. Her visits were always looked forward to with great anticipation and pleasure for she was go gay and lovable. She and my father had a great feeling for each other - he never failed her when she contacted him a different periods of stres in her life. Once he went to N.C. (Ashville?) when Richard (Bobcock Willis, Jr.) was about twelve, to give her comfort during a troublesome period. When Richard suffered his fatal accident, my father went to La Pror to stay with Aunt Maggie (who heloved dearly) while Gladys flew East to be Winifred Miller Willis and David Warren Willis.

Winder Georgia - Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at Bethabra Baptist Church Barrow County for Mrs. Lucy M. Collins, age 77 of Winder. The Rev Jack Burgess, Rev. Ray Pulliam and Rev. Steve Roberts will Officate. Interment will be in the Church cemetery. Mrs. Collins died Monday (7:30pm), July 28, 1987, at the Barrow Medical Center in Winder, Georgia.
She is the daughter of the late James F. & Cora Belle Allen England. Children included are; the late R.L. Collins - Martha B. Edge, Nellie M. Edge, both of Gainesville, Hall County, Georgia - James J. Collins of Norcross, Georgia, and Bob L. Colllins of Birmingham, Alabama.

ACCIDENT WITH GUN KILLS MR. R. LEE COLLINS OF VICTRON DISTRICT
The entire Victron community was shocked Thursday night, December 28, 1933, when Mr. Lee Collins shot himself with a shotgun.
Mr. Lee Collins was very popular among his assicates and made friends where ever he went. He was ever ready to lend his cooperation in the up building of his school and community in every way.
He was 26 years, 5 months, and 25 days old. He and Lucy Mae was married Aug 26, 1926, in Hall Co., Georgia.
He is survived by his wife lucy and 4 small children, R.L. - Martha - James - Nellie - his parents, Ernest & Alice Collins - 3 sisters, Essie, Geneva of Victron Community, Barrow Co., Ga., and Corene Lance of Hall Co. - 3 brothers, Carl Zeb Collins of Hall Co., Ga., Paul Thomas Collins of Douglasville, Ga., and Benjamin Harold Collins of Victron Community, Barrow Co., ga. - his father-in-law, James P. England & mother-in-law, Cora Belle England and their families.
The funeral was conducted by Rev. J.C. Harben at Bartharbra Baptist Church andwas buried there. J.B. Vickers Funeral Director of Gainesville, Ga., was in charge of the funeral.
