Frances Janie Hunter, 86, of Marietta died April 30, 2024 after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be1:30 PM Monday, May 6th at the chapel of Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta with graveside rights following at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery.
Frances was born and raised in Marietta attending Marietta City Schools and graduating with the class of 1955 from Marietta High School. After graduation, she was employed by the First National Bank while continuing her education at Georgia State University, earning several degrees and ultimately retiring as one of the banks executive vice presidents. Her career continued at Kennesaw State University as Comptroller of Finance until her retirement. Frances enjoyed reading , following the Braves and she loved her nephews more than anything! She will be missed.
She is survived by her brother Edwin (Anna), nephews Adam (Savannah), Rockwell (Sabrina) and great-nephew Benjamin. She was predeceased in death by her parents Ethel “Janie” and Edwin Hunter; sister, Shiela Bonita Hunter.
The family will receive friends 12:30-1:25 PM Monday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta.
