JEOPARDY's Answer if the Question for Today

My daily page a day JEOPARDY calendar’s answer today was:  This country was victorious over French forces at The Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.

I said the question is MEXICO.

I got it right!  On this date I would have got it right, without even reading the question or answer
