A few years
ago I dropped by the site Waterman Street Grammar School was on. All the cement and stone ruminants left
behind represented memories of my most formative years.
However,
thanks to Walter Gaines, who lived across the street, he saved me a brick when
it was bulldozed away.

Then, I
looked across the street (below) and down the hill, and saw the big vacant lot that
used to be the Clay Homes.
