In 1974, former White House counsel John W. Dean III was sentenced to one to four years in prison for obstruction of justice in the Watergate coverup. (Dean ended up serving four months.)

I remember watching the Watergate Hearing and remember it was said during that time that John Dean had a fear of going to prison because of his "fair face".  Years later when I saw the above comicbook cover "CUD",  illustrated by Terry LaBan, I immediately remembered John Dean's prison sentence.

Wild Bill, the moment he was killed made the hand he was holding famous:  DEAD MAN'S HAND"

In 1876, frontiersman “Wild Bill” Hickok was shot and killed while playing poker at a saloon in Deadwood, Dakota Territory, by Jack McCall, who was later hanged.
