In the Jailhouse Now
At the Good Old People's get-together yesterday evening I was talking to an old friend who told me as a teenager, in downtown Marietta, on Halloween night he was caught by the police throwing eggs.
He was arrested and thrown in the jailhouse. Then the jailhouse was an old building made of granite rocks. It had bars on the windows and sometimes the inmates inside would holler at you if you strolled by, taking a shortcut through Marietta's back alleys.
Fortunately, he said, he had to only spend a couple of hours in the clinker until his mother came and got him out.
He said there were some strange looking characters in there.
What he said made me think of the cover of CUD comic #2, by Terry LaBan (above). Click on it to read and see the details.
