This is a “a drive by shooting” . I did the driving by and Anna did the shooting (with an iPhone). The picture is of that Root House, believed to be the oldest house in Marietta. It was moved from Lemon Street to its present location on Marietta Parkway at Polk Street, sort of a show piece for Cobb Landmarks. It is also a museum. That is all good, but what I am touting is that the house was also the first house my mother lived when she came from North Georgia to work in a mill in the 1930s. Her father died and all her siblings old enough was to find work and send money home .
