Charles Jefferson Hunter, Store Owner, Postmaster, & Columnist

This is William A. Hunter/Trammell's oldest son, Charles Jefferson Hunter (1864-1954). He first married Paraline Victoria Dobbs (1861-1897) and had four children. Charley secondly married Letha Parr (1878-1961) and had three daughters.

Charles lived next door to his father on South Main Street in Woodstock, Cherokee County, Georgia. I am not who was the first one there.
Charles owned a store called Hunter's Store. He was also operated the community post office. I heard verbally the name of the Post Office was the Kelp Post Office, but I have not seen anything in print about it.
Also Charlie wrote a weekly column in the Cherokee Tribune, appropriately called "Hunter's Store". It was more like a rural society page, he reported illnesses, deaths, visits, trips, and whatever else of the community interest.
Charles and Letha Parr are buried in the same plot as his parents, in Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery near Woodstock.
The first picture is he and his first wife Paraline Dobbs. The second picture, many years later is he and his second wife Letha Parr.
